The Importance of Water



With two thirds of the earth's surface covered by water and the human body consisting of 75 percent of it, it is evidently clear that water is one of the prime elements responsible for life on earth. Water circulates through the land just as it does through the human body, transporting, dissolving, replenishing nutrients and organic matter, while carrying away waste material. Further in the body, it regulates the activities of fluids, tissues, cells, lymph, blood and glandular secretions.
Humans can live about 30 to 45 days without food, it is possible to live only 10 to 14 days wit Hough water. Water is a component of all body cells and constitutes from 50% to 6-% of the body weight of normal adults. The percentage is higher in males than females because me usually have more muscle tissue than women. The water content of muscle tissue is higher that that of fat tissue. The percentage of water content is highest in newborns and decreases with age.
Body water is divided into two basic compartments, intracellular and extra cellular. Intracellular fluid is water filled within the cells and accounts for about 65% of total body fluid. Extracellular is water outside the cell and account for about 35% of total body fluid. Extracellular fluid is found in the intravascular fluid.
Water is the major component of blood plasma. It is solvent for nutrients and waste products and helps transport both to and from body cells by way of the blood, It is necessary for the hydrolysis of nutrients in the cells, making it essential for metabolism. It functions as a lubricant in joints and in digestion. In addition, it cools the body through perspiration and may, depending on its source, provide some mineral elements.The best source of water is drinking water. Beverages of all types are second-best source. A considerable amount is also found in foods, especially fruits, vegetables, soups, milk, and gelatin desserts. In addition. Nutrients and their Functions



I learned that if you want to live a healthier life you need to know the facts about nutrients and their functions. To maintain health and function properly, the body must be provided with nutrients. Nutrients are chemical substances that are necessary for the life. They are divided into six classes the are; Carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and water.
The body can make small amounts of some nutrients, but most must be obtained from food in order to meet the body’s needs, Those available only in foods are called essential nutrients. There are about 40 of them, and they are found in all sex nutrients classes. The six nutrient classes are chemically divided into two categories: organic and inorganic. Now organic nutrients has hydrogen, oxygen, and carbon contained in it. You must remember that before your body can use organic nutrients, it must break down into their smallest components. Inorganic nutrients are already in their simplest forms when the body ingests inorganic nutrients, all except for water.
Each nutrient participates in at least one of the following functions: providing the body with energy, building and repairing body tissue, or regulating body processes. Carbohydrates, proteins and fats provides energy. Proteins are also used to build and repair body tissues with the help of vitamins and minerals. Vitamins, minerals, and water help regulate the various body processes such as circulation, respiration, digestion, and elimination.
It is important that you remember that each nutrient is important, but none works alone. For example, carbohydrates, proteins, and fats are necessary for energy, but to provide it, they need the help of vitamins, minerals, and water. Proteins are essential for building and repairing body tissue, but without vitamins, minerals, and water they are ineffective. Foods that contain substantial amount of nutrients are described as nutritious or nourishing.

Good Nutrition





A lot of people find pleasure in eating. Eating allows you to connect with your family and friends in pleasant surroundings. This connection creates pleasant memories. In social situations it is ease for one to make food choices that may not be conductive to good health.
Hunger is the physiological need for food. Appetite is a psychological desire for food. When the body signals hunger, that is the indication that there is a decrease in blood glucose that supplies the body with energy. If you ignore the signal and hunger becomes intense it is possible to make poor food choices. The choices that you make will determine your nutrition status. A person whom habitually chooses to eat, or not to eat, as a way of coping with life’s emotional struggles may be suffering from an eating disorder.
Once foods have been eaten, the body must process it before it can be used. Nutrients is the result of the processes whereby the body takes in and used food for growth, development, and the maintenance of health. These processes include digestion, absorption, and metabolism. Nutrition determines the height and weight of an individual. Nutrition also can affect the body’s ability to resist disease, the length of life, and the state of your physical and mental well-being.
Good nutrition enhances appearance and is commonly exemplified by shiny hair, clear skin, clear eyes, erect posture, alert expressions, and firm flesh on well developed bone structures. Good nutrition also aids emotional adjustments, provides stamina, and promotes a healthy appetite. It helps establish regular sleep and elimination habits.

I think a lot of people feel like their body isn’t in the perfect shape that it could be. They would prefer it were a little healthier. Perhaps there are some extra pounds that you would mind getting rid of or you just could use a little more stamina and endurance. A lot of people ask what kind of exercise can get ou back in shape?
